The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura

The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura was established under the provisions of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura Act 2004 enacted by Legislative Assembly of Tripura State and notified vide Notification No F.2 (529)- DHE/UDCA/2003, dt. 15.06.2004 of Government of Tripura. The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Agartala is sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (Icfai), a non-profit educational society established in 1984 under the A.P. (Telangana Area) Public Societies Act 1350F (Act 1 of 1350F), with the objective of imparting training in finance and management to students, working executives and professionals in India.

The University has been approved by the University Grants Commission, under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The Distance Education Council (DEC) has approved the programs of the ICFAI University, Tripura.

The University believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in core and frontier areas through innovative educational programs, research, consulting and publishing, and developing a new cadre of professionals with a high level of competence and deep sense of ethics and commitment to the code of professional conduct.

A number of educational programs are offered in management, finance, banking, insurance, accounting, law, information technology, arts, commerce, education and science & technology at bachelor’s and master’s levels on full-time campus and distance learning formats.

The University also allows private candidates to enroll in various programs if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The University does not provide any courseware, nor conduct any contact classes, nor offer any other support services to private candidates. Such candidates have to prepare for the programs on their own as per the curriculum and are required to attend the examinations, as per the rules and regulations of the University. The ICFAI Distance Learning programme is specially designed for that category of aspirants who cannot receive the education by attending the classes physically. The complete learning of this program is carried on the internet expliciting the technology to its best . Right from the application processing to admission procedure and then the course progression is also performed online. Its unique aspect is that it could be stretched to over seven years for its successful completion, thus providing immense flexibility. The classes are conducted online with the help of audio-visual.

he Centre of Distance Education provides exhaustive study material, regular practice tests and exercises. It also facilitates interactive session wherein the students can interact with experts during class through emails or video conferencing. The course material comprises of real time market scenarios, case studies, research papers to facilitate the student to the maximum. This program focuses on the case study method of learning giving students examples from real life and providing the perfect practical knowledge. The program structure of this program differs with the full time program as it is group based. In order to successfully attain the degree, the students are required to study and complete all the groups. Moreover it’s essential that this study of groups is performed in the same sequential order. The examination system is flexible because one can take exams at 130centres across the country. Also depending on the convenience one can take exams in any quarter not impeding ones professional work.

The Distance Learning programme also provides job assistance ship. The elective streams indicated are same as those offered with the full time program. The exam model is such that there is an examination for every subject out of 200 marks with each subject having two papers of 100 marks each and which is multiple choice questions based. These exams are conducted quarterly. The eligibility criterion for this program is a typical requirement of graduation (10+2+3 or 10+2+4) from any discipline with a minimum of 50%. There is no requirement to appear for any entrance exam for this program. Moreover, this programme has achieved corporate recognition as well.
