The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura was established under the provisions of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Tripura Act 2004 enacted by Legislative Assembly of Tripura State and notified vide Notification No F.2 (529)- DHE/UDCA/2003, dt. 15.06.2004 of Government of Tripura. The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Agartala is sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (Icfai), a non-profit educational society established in 1984 under the A.P. (Telangana Area) Public Societies Act 1350F (Act 1 of 1350F), with the objective of imparting training in finance and management to students, working executives and professionals in India.

The University has been approved by the University Grants Commission, under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The Distance Education Council (DEC) has approved the programs of the ICFAI University, Tripura.

The University believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in core and frontier areas through innovative educational programs, research, consulting and publishing, and developing a new cadre of professionals with a high level of competence and deep sense of ethics and commitment to the code of professional conduct.

The University also allows private candidates to enroll in various programs if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. MOST rookie taxi drivers applying for a hackney carriage licence don't have a clue where they're going in Manchester.
A total of 84 per cent of applicants are currently being refused a black cab licence for failing the knowledge test about the city's roads, council figuresreveal.
The level has slipped so low that town hall chiefs have ordered coaching sessions for wannabe cabbies.
"The test has become extremely difficult," said George Simms, secretary of the Manchester Cab Owners' Association.
"Even someone with loads of experience would fail it. If it goes on like this we're going to have a shortage of cab drivers."
Candidates to drive black cabs have to answer a series of questions that show they know the local area as well as passing a driving test. They are asked to describe the shortest and most direct route between major locations within Greater Manchester - for example the town halls in Manchester and Bury.
Drivers are also asked in the test how to look up a street in an A-Z map. If they get this section wrong, they fail automatically.
But many qualified Mancunian cab drivers think the city's test is not tough enough.
Brian Sweeney, a taxi driver for nearly 30 years, said: "If you make the test any easier, you're going to get a third rate taxi service."
Cabbie Zahid Khan, 50, passed the Manchester exam four years ago.
"Lots of drivers don't really know the city," he said. "It surprises me so few pass the test - it's easy if you do your research. I think it should be harder and broader, covering more areas."
London cabbies are required to study for up to two years to gain "The Knowledge" and their hackney carriage licence. They have to learn more than 320 set routes and should be able to drive a passenger unaided to any street within six miles of central London.
Unlike Manchester's one-off test, London applicants are interviewed on average 20 times before being granted a licence. The difficulty of the questions increases throughout the two years.
The private hire exam is easier than for the hackney carriage licence.

What’s as puzzling as the how many children’s products are being recalled for lead paint contamination is how companies’ (Fisher-Price, Mattel, Toys R Us etc.) Quality, PR and Marketing were and are asleep at the wheel.

For starters, who was ultimately responsible within the children’s product manufacturer for monitoring the quality and safety of these products? How is PR saturating online and offline media with damage control stories (as I haven’t heard or see any when I see the barrage of Toys R Us concerned consumers venting online). How is marketing reaching out to their customers (assuming they know who all their customers are) to reassure them?

A Google search for “toys r us lead paint” (the suggestion in the Google search bar) shows the #1 search result (out of 1.9 million) as a Toys R Us sponsored search ad which simply takes you to their corporate web site (to buy more lead tainted toys?) with nothing addressing the lead paint crisis on the home page. Although near the bottom of the page they do have a safety information link which takes you to a boilerplate safety letter from the CEO which doesn’t mention lead paint

Working part time
This is where you serve under a training contract on a part time basis, in the same way, as any other employee would work part time.
The period of training must not exceed four years and can not be less than would be served by a trainee in full time employment under a two-year training contract.
The length of the training contract will be calculated in days and half days depending on how many you work each week.
The Law Society provide the following guidance:

You should realise however that if extra hours such as overtime or weekend work are completed whilst working part time, the time will not be considered in order to reduce the overall term.

1 Definition
It is a system whereby you study for the CPE/GDL or LPC and serve under a training contract at the same time.
It allows you to commence training and start earning money whilst at the same lime studying a part time course leading to qualification.
2 How does it work?
Although the contract is expressed as "part time" you will usually effectively work full time in the office and will only be absent to attend study days for the course - On many part time courses this can include weekends.
The length of service required under a part time study contract is no longer than that under a full time contract, if the length of the full time Legal Practice Course (LPC) is taken into account. However only half the time served is considered as "good service" by the Law Society, so that someone in a two year part time contract will only have one year recognised and will be required to arrange a further contract for a year in order to complete the necessary training period.
A trainee who undertakes two consecutive part time courses, for example the last two years of a law degree and the part time LPC, would complete a period of four years of training at the training establishment.
A trainee who completes only the LPC on a part time basis would need to spend three years training at the firm, two part-time and one on a full-time basis.
3 The Training Contract
As with the full time training contract, there is a Law Society prescribed form for the contract a copy of which is in the "Training Trainee Solicitors" Guide, available online (above).
You will need to be on an approved course before the contract can be signed. The contract can not therefore pre-date the date of the part time course. If you are due to commence a course on 1 September the contract must be dated on or after that date.
The contract must be calculated in academic calendar years and would therefore normally run from 2 September 2005 until 1 September 2006, this is the case even though the course is likely to finish in the June before.
The training establishment is not obliged to take you on for the whole of the training period and may well just offer you the training while you are still studying. It is advisable to try to find a firm to take you for the whole of the training period so that your training does not need to be interrupted by moving firms. Make sure you check the offer letter to see whether the training is for all of the training period.
The authorisation and registration requirements are the same as for the full time training contract.
4 Registration of the Training Contract
The training contract must be registered at the Law Society within 28 days of the contract being signed by both you and the firm. Until it is registered you are not a “trainee” and will not be protected by the Training Contract Regulations.
The Law Society will send you notification of registration.
